Australia opener David Warner ushered in the New Year by announcing his retirement from One-Day Internationals (ODI),
But didn’t rule out the possibility of representing Australia in the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
Warner’s announcement comes two days before he is set to make his final Test appearance against Pakistan in the New Year’s Test in Sydney.
Warner had already announced his intentions to retire from the red-ball game in that fixture, and by quitting the 50-over format,
He will shift his focus solely to T20Is with the World Cup set to take place in the Caribbean and the United States later this year.
Warner also added that he would be open to playing the 2025 Champions Trophy, which is set to be hosted by Pakistan, if he’s still playing “decent cricket” and the team needs his services.
