Former West Indian cricketer Kieron Pollard recently shared insights into the conversation that led to his decision to play in the SA20 tournament,

Disclosing a persuasive message reminiscent of what Moeen Ali received from Ben Stokes in the past.

Pollard, initially retained by MI Emirates for the ILT20, faced a scheduling clash with SA20 after Nicholas Pooran took over the captaincy from him due to Rashid Khan’s withdrawal from the tournament.

The turning point came when MI Cape Town coach, Robin Peterson, in search of a new captain after Rashid Khan’s departure, reached out to Pollard,

Whom he had previously worked with in MI New York during the Major League Cricket the previous year.

Peterson’s message to Pollard was a simple “Comeback to South Africa,” echoing the style of communication that Ben Stokes once used with Moeen Ali, as revealed in an Ashes press conference.

During the skippers’ press conference ahead of the second season of the tournament, Pollard shared details of his interaction with Peterson.
